I had to watch this twice to understand what was going on, maybe why it didn't win more awards; it certainly should have. Slipping in several different actors to play the same character in the same scenes inside of a time-jumping format threw me. In the end, it's a beautiful, deeply heart breaking, painfully honest tale of ignorance, love and loss, and understanding. Investing too much value into family acceptance always proves to be a fool's errand. Cheers to all of the excellent performances and especially the actor playing TJ, absolutely hysterical lines and performance in a film so deeply sad. Get out a box of tissues. Probably the most artistic and moving film I've seen on the far too prevalent and tragic subject of gay suicide.
